Directional boring is ideal for underground pipe, conduit, or cable installation beneath roadways, railroads, and bodies of water.

Directional boring is generally completed in three phases. First, a pilot hole with a small diameter is drilled along a path from one surface point to another. Then, the borehole is drilled to a size that is appropriate for the pipeline that is being installed. Finally, the desired pipeline is guided through the hole until only the ends are showing at each point.
